| The WhiteKat concept was born in 2000 following the successful completion of a series of international fundraising events, aimed at raising money and awareness for children’s charities. These global events took place at various locations including Vancouver, Sydney and South Africa finally culminating in London.
In 2001 WhiteKat commenced outreach programs for at-risk youth within the London Borough of Hackney. Utilising arts, music and holistic therapies WhiteKat have sought to forge links between diverse groups as well as focusing on individual empowerment.
In 2004 WhiteKat had focused its attention to the global HIV/AIDS epidemic that continues to ruin lives both at home and abroad and partnered with Westminster Primary Care Trust NHS in creating an exciting and hugely successful youth-based sexual health and HIV campaign called Bedroom Business. This campaign was created with rather than at youth. WhiteKat provided them with the necessary tools to create their own multi-media sexual health campaign. In 2009, the Bedroom Business campaign was chosen as a case study for Best Practice Government Office for London “Young London Matters” SRE Core Curriculum in Schools.
Most recently, WhiteKat has been supporting NHS Westminster as a part of the Government's plan to increase Chlamydia screening amongst 16-24 year olds. WhiteKat has provided outreach sessions in Westminster linked to the Chlamydia Screening Programme. The screenings are made available to the target population in nonhealth screening venues, including colleges and universities, youth clubs, gyms and football pitches, fairs and festivals, art venues and clubs.
